Tehran meeting to discuss branding in handicrafts

According to the Iranian Students' Tourism & Travelling Agency (istta)

Ms. Zeinab Shafiei, an expert at economic sociology, is slated to review ways that classical and modern patterns for branding would affect the Iranian handicrafts market in both national and international scales. 
The meeting will also address necessities and essential characteristics of branding for Iranian souvenirs with an emphasis on the social media impacts, Mehr news reported on Friday.  
Exports of handicrafts have been on the increase over the past three years, witnessing an overall 59 percent hike, the CHTHO announced in January. Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Germany are the main importers of Iranian handicrafts.
Over the past couple of years, dozens of Iranian handicrafts have been honored with the UNESCO Seal of Excellence.
In 2010, a total of 65 crafts on various themes including enamel, tile, metalwork, leatherwork, wood carving received the privilege.
